Smooth Bone Grips for the Original Remington 1875
Smooth bone grips have a place in the working history of the Old West, where practical materials were often put to good use on firearms carried by working men. These grips are made specifically for original Remington Model 1875 revolvers, the large-frame sidearm that found its way from the post-Civil War period into the hands of lawmen, cowboys, travelers, and others living and working along the frontier.
Bone made a sensible grip material. It could be shaped, smoothed, and hand-finished into a solid, comfortable grip suited to a working revolver. Just as important, no two pieces of bone look exactly alike. Natural color variation, grain, and small cracks, give each pair its own character. These are stable, durable grips intended for long-term use, with the natural markings adding to their old-fashioned appearance rather than taking away from it.
Each pair is made to order and individually fitted to the customer's original Remington 1875. The firearm must be sent to us so we can shape the grips properly to that particular revolver. This is hands-on work done one set at a time, so please allow additional time for fitting, shaping, and finishing. The result is a set of grips that belongs to the individual firearm rather than a generic piece pulled from a shelf.

Good bone has its own character, and that is part of the appeal. Made by hand, fitted to the gun, and meant to last, these grips are a tip of the hat to the materials and workmanship found in the Old West.
NOTE: For best fit we prefer to have your revolver.
If you are not comfortable with that, we can work from your original grips, back strap and trigger guard.
