We used an original Remington 1875 itself as the pattern for these grips, letting the old revolver determine the shape, proportions, and fit. That matters with a gun like this—the finished grips should follow the lines of the original firearm and retain the character of the 1875 as it was made in its own time. The bone gives the finished pair a traditional period character while the hand-finished work keeps each set from looking factory-made.
