Serial #:224 Manufacturer: Remington Arms Inc. 41 RF Barrel 3 inch ribbed. Finish: blue. Grip: hard rubber. This is an example of a Type II Remington over/under derringer.
The top of the rib is marked "REMINGTON ARMS - U.M.C. CO. ILION, N.Y." Matching serial number on barrel and frame under left grip. The derringer has the manual extractor and checkered bird head grips. It is mechanically perfect. The hinge has no cracks and has never been repaired. The bore is bright with no pitting.
Condition: Fine. The derringer retains approximately 60% of the original factory dull blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The left grip is fine. The right grip has a very small chip near the top of the grip with the piece glued in place.
