This is a sharp looking Model 1878 Double Action Revolver. Antique Serial number is in the 31,000 range. Standard blue finish, checkered hard rubber grips w/Rampant Colt Logo and 7 1/2in. Colt marked the barrels of its 44-40,1878 Double Action revolvers "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER".
Overall condition grades to NRA Antique Fine overall retaining 45% original blue. The balance has worn to gray/brown metal. Nice edges and markings throughout. The Frontier Six Shooter marking is perfect. 100% original throughout down to the smallest screw.
A very respectable example of an Antique Colt 1878 that's still showing some original color and in one of the most desirable barrel and caliber configurations.
