Our prestigious western hats have long been the favorite of Old West cowboy enthusiasts all around the world and a cornerstone of our store since the very beginning. Each hat was hand styled by Jim Boeke himself and after over 37 years of shaping them he was pretty darn good at it. This tradition has now passed to Paul. He has surpassed Jim and even added styles and techniques to our bag of tricks. Paul has turned antiquing into an art form and does his best to accommodate special requests.

Our wool felt hats are made of the best wool bodies available today. Wool felt hats go back into the early history of this country and were in common use in the military from before the Civil War on through the present day. Therefore, the use of wool felt hats is definitely authentic for re-creating an earlier time period. Fur felt hats are 10X beaver quality and are second to none in long-term durability. These hats are often sold by others for $350-$900 each, but as you can see, River Junction Trade Company holds down the price line for you.

Unstyled is the way most hats were sold at the General Store in the late 1800s, most cowboys purchased their hats this way and styled them themselves or they let use and the elements do the styling for them. Although today, many folks like their western hat to be pre-pinched into a western cowboy hat style made popular by their favorite western movie. Whether it be the black cowboy hat of the villain or the white cowboy hat (belly) of the hero, River Junction can bring your hat to life.
