A Victorian wooden truncheon, ( lead shot loaded pocket sap) with well defined turnings. A rare small size police billy club from the late 1800s. It is made of a hard wood, likely oak. This club is weighted with a lead in the front. Tap it against you hand and you can hear the shot move inside. Includes the original wool cord and tassel. This club has a chip on the butt, otherwise in very nice condition. 8” long, with the wool band and tassel measuring 8” long. Weight of 1/4 pound. A dark wood likely professionally made for police.
