The ideal light cavalry carbine.Colt model 1855 .44 caliber 6-shot revolving carbine with factory 18” barrel, with grey/brown patina on all metal, serial #1429. The gun remains in good original condition showing smooth finish throughout . The markings on the top strap are "COL. COLT HARTFORD-CT.". On the right side of the frame "COLT'S PAT NOV. 24-1857". The stock is very good with no chips or cracks and only very light dings. showing no sanding with original oil finish, and a good wood to metal fit. The action works perfectly. The front original sling swivel has retained, but the rear one has been very neatly cut off and dressed down. I am sure the removal of that swivel made for a much better handling arm. What a unique addition to any frontier collection.

Does not include the original Cavalry saddle bags.
