As we enter through the swinging doors of Uncle Sam’s Saloon a pungent haze met us. A mix of trail dust, bay rum drenched gamblers and cheap perfumed soiled doves, while foamy mugs of beer lined the bar. Soon to be followed by the sharp sting of rye whiskey. Under the yellowed glow of ornate and elegant lamps that lit our way. Can this be real? Is this actual happening??!!??!! Yes it is!! The lamp light does not lie. The sound of jingling spurs against the rough plank floor, the roar of laughter, clatter of poker chips. Soon to be followed by the best on the river. Thee “Can-Can” The girls mount the stage in a whirl of many colored petticoats with multitudes of lace. Their high-kicking energy brings all to our feet, with a YeeHaw Woo Ha and Eee Ha hoot and holler as the rhythmic heavy skirts flair Then ((BANG)) , ((BANG)) A young cowboys smoking Colt puts two in the ornate tin ceiling. Oh well. as my old friend Glen Mock would want to say “just making memories” All this under the glow of 11 beautiful Saloon lamps. Make one yours.
