A single draw nautical telescope with brass tubes and reddish brown walrus hide leather sleeve. Front and rear sliding lens covers are both in place and work fine. These telescopes were considered of extremely high quality by serving officers of the Royal Navy and Continental Navy. This one was probably purchased before 1850 and possibly much earlier.
Excellent condition sleeve smooth focus slide no looseness, returns clear sharp image.
