RJT#5853 -

Description

This unique double rigged saddle is in very good condition. All the leather tie strings are intact and displays 6 conchos. The rear jockey and skirt are bordered with 3/4 inch brass spots. The cantle, fork and horn are decorated with 1/2 inch nickel spots. The leather would give a century of use.  The tree is a Mexican style, solid and true.  There is very little missing fleece and it has good loft. This Vintage Mexican Charro Saddle is Beautiful, Rare and collectable. Made by Ray Silvis. Silvis made saddles for Hochman’s Western Wear in Jacksonville Fla. The tooling and detail is beautiful, and is Very unusual to be found on this type of tree. Still it is typical of work done by master leather craftsman. The makers name is clear and distinct and can be seen on the rear jockey. It has a 13 seat. It has some surface cracking on the lower seat jockey of the saddle, but nothing major and the Sturup straps have been replaced.  I know that every lover of fine western memorabilia would be proud to have this fine piece in their collection. The leather has seen no lacquer, just excellent care. The only flaw is the fact that the previous owners name has been obliterated from the rear jockey. (see picture).
