RJT#5809 -

Description

A great old whiskey flask made of pewter with cup cover lid. The flask is in very good condition. Likely made in the mid 1800s. It has some very minor scuffs, but no dents or cracks. It is ready to provide a century of service. With the cup/lid on, it measures 5 1/4” X 3” X 1 1/2”.
The makers mark on the bottom reads “ JAMES DIXON & SONS SHEFFIELD”. Beneath that is the model number 1383 and above is the letter “D” with a bugle cartouche mark just below the D.
This flask would be ideal for laying on a poker table and used as a “SHINER” to read the cards when dealing to the local sodbusters in a backwater saloon in Iowa, just don’t try it in the likes of Tombstone or Deadwood. That would be sure to get you, TARRED AND FEATHERED AND RUN OUT OF TOWN A RAIL.
