Description

This 1851 Colt steel frame conversion has a loading port cut in the frame and converts this '51 Colt for the Kirst cartridge Konverter without loading gate , which does not effect function. The Kirst ejector rod assembly has been installed. The top of the  7 1/2 inch barrel is marked ''ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY".  The left side of the frame is marked "COLT'S PATENT". The frame has the serial number 120388 and all other parts have the matching serial number.  The .36 caliber percussion revolver barrel has a bore diameter of .375 inches. Todays .38 caliber bullets are .357-inch diameter bullets. To attain best accuracy with a .38 caliber cartridge, you must shoot a soft lead hollow base bullet. You may choose to shoot a .38 special full wadcutter which is a hollow base. This ammo is available at most good gun shops. The soft lead hollow base bullet will bump up” to the .375-inch bore diameter and shoot very accurately. The grips are "antiqued " walnut. This conversion has been hand tuned and has an acceptionly crisp action .
