These are the hanging saloon lamps salvaged from the Middle Room at McGregor’s Landing, the space that was once home to the Whistle Stop restaurant. We were able to save these lamps before the building was torn down, and now we’re offering them to folks who want a genuine piece of McGregor’s Landing with a little Old West character.
The lamps have the simple wire-framed construction you’d expect in a working saloon, with none of the unnecessary fuss. That plain construction is part of their charm. They were made to provide light overhead without taking up much space, and the open wire frame gives them the look of the straightforward lamps used in frontier-era establishments. In fact, the connection to 3:10 to Yuma is a real one. River Junction supplied lamps like these for the filming of the movie, starring Russell Crowe and Christian Bale, among others.
These lamps have been electrified and were wired directly into the ceiling at McGregor’s Landing. They do not have electrical plugs, so the existing wiring will need to be replaced or adapted for your installation. Have the rewiring done by a qualified electrician before putting one back into service.
Some things are worth saving because of the memories they hold. We hope these lamps find good homes where they can help keep a little piece of McGregor’s Landing alive.
