These are the wall-mounted lamps salvaged from McGregor’s Landing before the old building was torn down. That’s right—the actual lamps from McGregor’s Landing, including the ones that were in the River Room. We were able to save these great old lamps, and now we’d like to pass them on to good homes where they can be appreciated and help keep the memories of McGregor’s Landing alive. The building became a real part of McGregor, hosting local events and giving folks plenty of memories to take with them.
Each lamp is complete with its cast iron wall bracket, chimney, brass font, and reflector. The bracket provided solid wall mounting, while the brass font originally held kerosene or lamp oil. The chimney protected the flame, while carrying smoke upward. The reflector threw the lamp’s light farther into the room, helping illuminate a larger area. These lamps have since been converted to electricity, with the original font, chimney, and reflector still in place.
The lamps were wired directly into the walls at McGregor’s Landing, so they do not have electrical plugs. The existing wiring will need to be replaced and adapted for your installation. We recommend having a qualified electrician handle the rewiring before putting one back into service.
